The purpose of this blog is to track, monitor and collect information about disasters before, during and after they strike a community. I plan to chase looming disasters virtually, and where possible I will attempt to feed live accounts through myself and other bloggers. Inspired by the bravery of the blogging community in New Orleans who brought us live feeds through webcam and personal postings, I would like to provide timely, useful and humourous information to those at risk.
At about 5.30am on Saturday 27th of May, and earthquake struck the Indonesian Island of Java measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale.
